DoneGrading (“we,” “our,” or “the Service”) is an educational technology application designed to assist educators with grading and feedback. We are committed to protecting the privacy of educators and students and handling data responsibly and transparently. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users.

1. Who This Service Is For

DoneGrading is intended for use by educators. Student information is processed only at the direction of an educator and solely for educational purposes. DoneGrading does not market to students directly.

2. Information We Collect

a. Educator Account Information

When you sign in using Google, we may collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Google account identifier

This information is used solely to authenticate you and associate data with your account.

b. Classroom and Assignment Data

With your permission, DoneGrading may access:

  • Class and assignment metadata
  • Student names and identifiers provided through Google Classroom
  • Grading rubrics and assignment structure

c. Student Work and Content

Educators may upload images or files of student work for grading purposes. This may include:

  • Handwritten or typed student responses
  • Feedback and grades generated or edited by the educator

d. Usage and Technical Data

We may collect limited technical data such as:

  • Device type and browser
  • App usage metrics
  • Error logs

This data is used only to improve reliability and performance.

3. How We Use Information

Information is used exclusively to:

  • Authenticate educators
  • Enable grading and feedback features
  • Generate AI-assisted grading suggestions
  • Improve app functionality and reliability

We do not use data for advertising or profiling.

4. AI and Automated Processing

DoneGrading may use artificial intelligence to assist educators by:

  • Interpreting uploaded student work
  • Suggesting grades or feedback

All AI outputs are advisory only. Final grading decisions are always made by the educator.

AI processing is performed only to deliver requested functionality and is not used to train public models.

5. Student Privacy & FERPA

DoneGrading is designed to support compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

  • Student data is processed only on behalf of educators
  • Student data is not sold, shared, or used for advertising
  • Data is not used to build user profiles unrelated to education

6. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored using Google Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure. Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards are used to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

Data may be shared only with:

  • Google services necessary to operate authentication, hosting, and AI functionality

All service providers are bound by confidentiality and security obligations.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Educators may delete content they upload
  • Accounts and associated data may be deleted upon request
  • Data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the Service

9. Children’s Privacy

DoneGrading does not knowingly collect information directly from children without educator involvement. All student data is provided by or through an educator for educational use.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above.
