Terms of Service for DoneGrading

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of DoneGrading (“the Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use DoneGrading.

1. Description of the Service

DoneGrading provides tools to assist educators with grading, feedback, and classroom workflows, including AI-assisted features. The Service is provided for educational purposes only and is intended to support, not replace, professional judgment.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must:

  • Be an educator or authorized school personnel
  • Have authority to upload and process student work

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized access or use.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use DoneGrading:

  • Only for lawful educational purposes
  • In compliance with school or district policies and applicable laws
  • With appropriate permissions for student data where required

You may not:

  • Use the Service for non-educational or commercial advertising purposes
  • Upload content you do not have permission or rights to use
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the Service

4. AI-Assisted Features Disclaimer

DoneGrading may provide AI-generated suggestions for grades or feedback. You acknowledge that:

  • These outputs are not final evaluations
  • Educators are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all grades and feedback
  • DoneGrading does not replace professional judgment or school policies on grading

5. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of:

  • Content you upload (such as student work, rubrics, and assignments)
  • Grades, feedback, and other instructional materials you create

By using the Service, you grant DoneGrading a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to process this content solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not claim ownership over student work or educator content.

6. Data Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • You have legal authority to upload and process student work
  • Your use of DoneGrading complies with FERPA, COPPA, and any other applicable laws or regulations
  • Your use aligns with your institution’s data protection and technology policies

7. Service Availability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we strive for reliability and minimal downtime, uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Maintenance or technical issues may occasionally interrupt access.

8. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service, or portions of it, if:

  • These Terms are violated
  • The Service is misused or used in a way that may harm others
  • We are required to do so by law or by a valid legal request

Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to provide notice before suspension or termination. You may stop using the Service at any time.

9. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DoneGrading and its developers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
